| A recent update to Fireshot seems to be (stuck?). Everytime I launch Firefox I get a second tab telling me that Fireshot has been successfully updated. | ||

Do you close Firefox normally?
Does it display "updated" if you close Firefox entirely and start again? |

If you go to Tools & then Options, check under Hope Page. There may be 2 home pages listed. Just delete the extra one! This also happen to me upon one of the last updates I did.

JWV, you mean, the last update of FireShot changed your homepage address?
Hmm, I'm wondering how you've managed to set up displaying of two homepages simultaneously... Could you please describe it? A screenshot will be very useful I think. |

Honestly I have no idea how it happen? I don't remember if it was the latest update or 1 or 2 before that inserted it into my homepage list.
And it was about 1-2 weeks ago so I don't have a strong memory of it exactly I just rememeber every time I would open my FF Browser it would open the Fireshot updated page in a 2nd tab every time. So I went to options and noticed it listed right under my defualt homepage. I simply deleted it and it fixed the problem. Sorry I don't have any screenshots... I didn't think of it at the time. |

After just researching for a second, the way to insert 2 homepages is just simply place a | between them and they will both open simultaneously.
Hope this helps! |

I think fireshot is a great app.But same thing mentioned in this post is really annoying. And I think it is a bug and has nothing to do with client box setup. At least expecting developer to look into and prove that it has something to do with my machine-s.Yes it is another reason to think that it is a bug.Because same thing happens on multiple boxes.don't want to think that is a marketing trick to remind people to go pro.
thanks |

FireShot 0.46 on MS Vista Firefox 2.0.0.14. Same problem and it is not because Firefox is listed as a second started page. The "Hi, I'm FireShot and I'm going to forever follow you around thanking you for installing me" (thoughtfulness of the thanks is appreciated but once is enough) only began for me after one of the last two or three updates. And, by the way, I am also unable to capture more than the visible part of the screen. Actually, I once did get the whole thing but don't know why. A possibility for the perpetual THANK YOU: For there to be any thank you message, there must be a FireShot or Mozilla subprogram or something that captures and stores the information an update has occurred. Maybe a cookie is set or altered? The next time Firefox is started, it sees the altered bits, flag, cookie or whatever and outputs the opening of the tab containing the FireShot "Thank you" message. If the bits aren't changed, the flag lowered, or the cookie changed immediately or at the shutdown of Firefox, the presence of the bits, flag, or cookie will trigger the opening of a Fireshot 'Thank you' tab every time Firefox is started.

FireShot 0.46, Vista OS Firefox 2.0.0.14 Later in the same session I replied to an email and the thank you came up with the reply form in a separate. In found the added tab appeared every time I clicked on the email compose button. Who knows if they're related, but before either the reply or the compose started, and for that matter before Firefox starts, I get an odd error message: Error: TypeError: Components.classes[???@toolbar.aol.com/uninstallobserver;1??™] has no properties. That's recwent too.

Bill,
thank you for your considerations, but your e-mail or message to bugfix@screenshot-program.com would be more appreciated because I need to run some tests at your PC to discover the reason of this problem. |
