I am certain that I am having the same problem as this person.  http://screenshot-program.com/sup/art827.htm

Fireshot (download on your web page now. It says fireshot.xpi)
Windows 7 Home Premium
FireFox: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.

I downloaded Firefox to see if Fireshot would work with this but it does not recognize what file is needed to open the file.

It is not working in IE either.
Fireshot .83-ie
Windows 7 Home Premium
IE  Version 8.0.7600.16385

when I tried in IE
I saved it.
When I went to use it the only thing in my start menu program files is a link back to the download page.

It appears program compatibility is stopping the program from running or downloading correctly.
I ran the troubleshooter for program compatibility:

Test Compatibility

Then I tested by

Running as Administrator

Neither of these works but it appears their is a program compatibility issue at work on my computer.
By the way, I ahd Fireshot on my old computer but had to reinstall windows on that computer. When I went to download Fireshot again it was doing the same thing as what I described above for IE.
That computer was Window Vista with the latest version of Fireshot and IE.

Hello,

I don't think the problem is the same as at the link you specified. The problem discussed there was that there's only Windows OS is supported.

1. To install fireshot.xpi, please open Firefox and drag and drop this file in Firefox window. Then follow the dialog shown by Firefox.

2. You need Administrator permissions to install FireShot for IE. After successful installation, restart your IE browser and check whether FS button is available. If it is not available, try showing it by checking FireShot toolbar in "View" menu.

Hope this helps.
