FireShot for IE 0.81
Windows 2000 SP4
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0

FireShot installs OK, works fine with no problems. But when I click on "Check for update..." in the menu on the FireShot IE toolbar, I get the following message in an error (white X in a red circle) pop-up window:

fireshot-install.exe - Unable To Locate DLL
===========================================
The dynamic link library XMLLITE.DLL could not be found in the specified path (and then it goes on to list my PATH, which is correct except that it has in front of everything else the subdirectory named "extracted" within my TEMP folder).

When I click on OK, I get another pop-up window that reads:

<TEMP_path>\extracted\sss-install.dll
=====================================
Failed to load SSS.dll.
Possibly reinstall should help.

When I click on OK, I get another pop-up error window that reads:

Error
=====
Error loading library

After all this, FireShot still works OK, but it can't go out and check for updates.

You need to download xmllite.dll manually and place it to WINNT\system32 folder

XMLLite is available for Windows XP SP2 and later, and not for Windows 2000, as far as I can tell. I did download the official update from Microsoft, but it refused to apply itself to Windows 2000. If there is somewhere that I can download a "raw" xmllite.dll file "manually" then I would appreciate a pointer to it. All the web sites that I found that claimed to have it either don't work, or want money to download anything (and I've been there and tried that before and they generally don't have anything worthwile -- just ads and promises, if not viruses and trojans).

Thanks. I'll try that this evening.

Has it solved your problem?

Yes, the version of xmllite.dll that you provided -- 1.0.1018.0 -- did solve the problem for Internet Explorer 6 on a Windows 2000 SP4 system.

Thanks for the expeditious response!
