I am using both IE6 (6.0.29) and Firefox 3.5.3 on a Windows XP SP2 PC.
When I try to capture a screenshot, I received the following message: "Failed to load SSS.dll. Possibly reinstall should help" For the IE installation, I have checked C:\Program Files\FireShot for IE to see what dlls have been loaded and can see the following: FSAddin-0.81.dll SSS-0.81.dll I have also checked the library path for my Firefox profile to check for the dlls there. This shows the following: FSAddin.dll SSS.dll I have tried reinstalling and restarting my machine several times, with no success. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? Many thanks in advance, Clare |

| Much likely, your Anti-Virus software locks FireShot from launching. | ||

Hi,
The rest of the people in the office, using version 0.80 on the same build (versions of Windows, IE, Firefox, same anti-virus software) do not experience the same issue. Is there something specific within version 0.81 that is the issue? Thanks, Clare |

What about you?
Did you try switching to 0.80 version? Does it help? Normally, 0.81 version works fine. I've never heard about such problem in global scope. |

As this is installed as an addin - no one has the files to give me to try an install.
Is there a link to download previous versions? On the download page I can only download v0.81. Many thanks again, Clare |

Hi there,
Many thanks for all the help. Reverting to v0.80 has indeed fixed the issue, so there must be a specific contention between something on our set up here and v0.81. Cheers, Clare |

Clare,
good to know it's OK with 0.80. By the way, can I send you a test 0.81 build to find the reason why 0.81 is not working at your configuration? |

I'm having the same problem with ie6 on basic XP as described in first post:
When I try to capture a screenshot, I received the following message: "Failed to load SSS.dll. Possibly reinstall should help" The msg is in a dialog box with SSS-0.83.dll in it, the version i downloaded today, 2010-5-26 I searched my C: drive and the file SSS.dll did not exist. I'd love to try version 0.80 .. is there a download link? |
